ITM Aero 3.0 Cassette Body 9315018002
The lightweight ITM Aero 3.0 aluminium wheels features interchangeable cassette bodies between Shimano/Sram and Campagnolo compatibility. The Campagnolo version can be used with 9, 10, and 11 speed cassettes. A standard Campagnolo M27 x 1mm thread lockring is required.
Made from aluminium and silver anodised to prevent corrosion, sealed cartridge bearings are factory fitted and serviceable with the removal of a simple circlip. A rubber lip seal that provides moisture protection from the pawl mechanism is also supplied, along with a replacement axle end cap that corrects the hub spacing when swapping from a Shimano compatible body.
ITM have designed the Aero cassette body with three pawls that are independently operated by small leaf springs. This is a more reliable system than the common method of using a fragile single clip spring for all three pawls. If the single spring fails then the entire mechanism will not engage, however with the ITM individual leaf spring system, if there is a problem with one spring, the other pawls will continue to provide engagement to keep the bike ridable. The ITM cassette body does cost slightly more to produce because of this, but reliability is the bonus.
Two 5mm allen keys are required for fitting of the cassette body.
