Sitting at the mid-point in the ITM component range, the Triango Carbon/Aluminium model combines these two materials to produce a seatpost with the style of carbon and the strength and durability of aluminium. Featuring a secure twin bolt clamp system, and a forged aluminium base with carbon finishing, this seatpost can be matched up with the same model stem and handlebar for a complete ITM Triango model set.
Construction for the Triango starts out with a solid 7075 grade aluminium block. This is forged to create a one-piece seat mast and head. This is much stronger and more durable than seatposts made with a tube and a glued or pressed in head at the top, and is also lighter. Bead blasting is carried out to etch the aluminium surface before 3K carbon fibre is layered over the mast section of the post. Compression is applied to the carbon to form a close bond and minimise the resin content within the carbon weave. To complete the process the post is painted black on the upper section and then entirely gloss coated over for a durable high class finish.
The twin bolt head allows micro adjustment of saddle tilt while helping prevent the saddle from slipping or coming loose. Clamp parts are also produced by forging which better aligns the grain structure of the metal for a stronger component than the casting method, which is used by some manufacturers. The actual seat rail clamps are not serrated which means the exact saddle angle can be achieved. The two bolts are 6mm diameter requiring a 5mm allen key for fastening. Underneath the bolt heads are special non-slip serrated washers that press against the seatpost providing additional clamping security.
At 350mm in length the ITM Triango is perfectly suited to sloping top tube style compact frames, easily providing enough insertion for correct frame and seatpost support. The seatclamp offset is 20mm, which is the dimension from the centre of the seat post to the centre of the seat clamp. The rear of the post also has a graduated 10cm height scale for ease of fine tune height adjustments. This post only differs from the similar Triango Wing Carbon/Aluminium in graphics.
